About This Site

Oculo's website is an integral part of Oculo's monitoring environment. Core to this environment is a collection of dispersed monitoring stations running our OculoProbe software - an in-house developed application that is based on real-time telemetry principles.

Each station connects to the internet from a variety of locations using different Internet Service Providers for resilience and redundancy.

The OculoProbe software schedules all monitoring and testing. The monitoring stations raises alerts and produces the local customer notifications of the identified events, thus significantly reducing the notification period.

All stations constantly inter-communicate and automatically request secondary checks via another station in order to verify any site problems that the first station has identified. Station failure or scheduled maintenance has no impact since another station will take over the monitoring until the original station resumes normal service.

The results from all monitoring stations are streamed to our central data processing systems where rolling analysis is performed with the results then being fed to the OculoWeb applications running on our website ready for on-demand display.

All graphs and reports are produced dynamically from the latest data available. No reports are pre-prepared.

The graphics, layout and logo used on the Oculo website were designed by Denison Design.

Denison Design specialises in corporate identity, website and packaging design. It has worked with many leading blue-chip companies, public-sector bodies and businesses including Reuters, Oxford University Press, Oculo and Wrigleys.
